BMW offers three 2024 7 Series trims: 740i, 750e xDrive, and 760i xDrive. The entry-level 2024 BMW 7 Series gets a great selection of standard features, including an adaptive air suspension, a power trunk lid, a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, soft close doors, etc. BMW fits the base 740i with a well-appointed interior, offering creature comforts like four-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, etc.
The 740i gets plenty of options, including a Premium package, an Executive package, a Drive Assistance Professional package, an M Sport Professional package, and a Luxury rear Seating package.
The 2024 BMW 750e will most likely feature all the equipment in the base 740i but offer all-wheel drive, an electric motor, and a battery pack with over 35 miles of all-electric range.
The top trim BMW 760i gets a more powerful engine, upgraded leather upholstery, all-wheel drive, and ventilated front seats. BMW also offers the 760 with optional two-tone paint schemes.
Engine, Performance, and Transmission
The base 2024 BMW 740i uses a reasonably potent turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with 375 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. BMW also offers a 740i xDrive with all-wheel drive capability. While the base model sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, the all-wheel drive variant does it in 4.9 seconds.
The 2024 BMW 750e xDrive gets a more potent powertrain, the same turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine, but paired with an electric motor for a combined 483 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels. Its impressive performance translated to a quicker 0 to 60 mph sprint of 4.7 seconds.
At the top of the 2024 BMW 7 Series lineup sits the 760i xDrive with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 536 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The V8 mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels. The 2024 BMW 760i xDrive has a quick 0 to 60 mph sprint of 4.1 seconds.
All gasoline-powered models have a limited top speed of 155 mph, but the electrified 750e xDrive has a lower top speed of 127 mph.
Fuel Economy and Estimated Annual Fuel Costs

BMW’s 2024 7 Series sedan has an elegant interior with an expansive widescreen that integrates the digital gauge cluster with the infotainment touchscreen. The interior gets a futuristic design with minimal clutter, similar to most modern electric vehicles. All 2024 BMW 7 Series models get quality interior materials, with even the base 740i getting leather upholstery.
Opting for the Luxury rear Seating package offers more comfortable rear seats with ventilation, massage, and power recline functions. The 2024 BMW 7 Series also has more trunk space than rivals like the Mercedes Benz S Class and Audi A8.
Infotainment and Technology
All 2024 BMW 7 Series models get a large 14.9 infotainment touchscreen with BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5 system. While BMW’s infotainment display is quite impressive, the lack of buttons makes it harder to make some fairly simple adjustments like seat heating or ventilation.
Fortunately, BMW fits a dial controller, making it easier to use the infotainment system. The latest iDrive 8.5 software recognizes voice commands and can help you adjust cabin temperature or find the nearest coffee shop. While using voice commands is more convenient, it interrupts with music or podcasts.
BMW also offers an optional Theatre Screen, which utilizes a 31.3-inch display mounted on the ceiling of the 7 Series. The screen uses the onboard 5G cellular data, allowing rear-seat passengers to browse the web and stream their favorite movies on Netflix. The rear seat passengers can easily interact with the display via the touchscreen displays on the door panels.
